Finally! This is the best sunscreen that I have ever used, suitable for the Singapore weather. It smells good with a fresh light citrus orange scent, that is uplifting. And the best part is that it does not leave a sticky and oily (non-greasy) feel on the face after application, which makes it all the more suitable for the hot and humid weather in Singapore.
Having faced personal concerns about sunscreen ingredients, I must say that this is so far the best sunscreen that I have no major issues about the ingredients contained inside (more about the ingredients below).
So here’s more about Suntegrity:
Suntegrity came about in memory of Tricia’s mom and all of those who lost their lives to skin cancer. Using her mom’s experience as a positive catalyst for change, Tricia created a holistic, mineral sun care line to help people avoid skin cancer.
After losing her mom to melanoma skin cancer, Tricia became a big advocate of wearing sunscreen. However, most of the sunscreens on the market use chemical UV blockers and contain a lot of toxic ingredients. It didn’t make sense to her to use these types of sunscreens to prevent skin cancer only to get another kind of cancer.
After several years of research and investigation, Tricia decided to develop her own sun care line. With a heartfelt mission and the help of an extremely knowledgeable formulator and chemist, Suntegrity Skincare was born.
Suntegrity Face and Body SPF 30 products use only the best known physical block ingredient (non-nano size zinc oxide) to provide broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection and super anti-oxidants and amino acids to enhance that protection and help with skin repair. Their products use non-toxic preservatives to maintain their integrity without sacrificing safety or health. Their company was awarded “Champion” Status by the EWG/Compact for Safe Cosmetics.
Tricia hopes we enjoy their products and smile in the memory of someone you love every time we use them. And this is found on every Suntegrity product:
I have previously blogged about the suki® skin care range available in Pure Tincture, Singapore’s distributor of premier natural, pure and organic skin care.
Pure Tincture sources for skin care products from all over the world. Only when the products passes their stringent criteria are they then imported and carried by Pure Tincture. Thus, it was a great pleasure for me to chance upon the Suntegrity Skincare:
I have also previously blogged about how to know if our products are angel dusted. This is particularly relevant when we shop for our food and skincare products.
Suntegrity Skincare’s sunscreen is the first sunscreen I know of that has the vegan and cruelty-free certification found on the bottle.
It also has both PETA & Leaping Bunny Certification.
In addition it is free of Parabens, Phthalates, Propylene Glycol, Mineral Oils, Synthetic Dyes, Sulfates, PABA, Titanium Dioxide, Nano-Particles and Chemical UV Absorbers:

Zinc-Oxide (Non-Nano Size)
Zinc Oxide is an inert white mineral with anti-inflammatory properties that is used as a sun filter. It helps to reflect both UVA (aging) and UVB (burning) rays, and is therefore used as a broad spectrum sunscreen ingredient. Zinc is also used for its soothing and healing abilities (often found in diaper rash creams) as it adheres to skin well and forms a protective barrier. It is one of the three legal sunscreen ingredients used in the European Union. In non-nanoparticle form, it is considered to be safe for all ages and skin conditions. Suntegrity Skincare products use Zinc Oxide particles that measure 220 nm which is well above what is referred to as a nanoparticle (under 100 nm).

Personally, the EWG’s Skin Deep Cosmetics Database is very useful and I highly recommend this awesome website!
So I got to try out the Suntegrity Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen & Primer, Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (picture below, left, bottle). After using it for 1.5 months, I am still highly satisfied with this sunscreen. Here’s my personal take about it:
The other two tubes on the right contains pigments, like a BB cream, of 2 shades – Light & Golden Light.
Since I have quite tanned skin, I decided to try “BB cream” to see if there is any difference how I look. I got the Medium shade sample since there was only Light and Medium available for the samples. Personally, my skin looks “smoother” due to the pigments under harsh lighting. In everyday general use, I still prefer to go with the non-tinted Suntegrity Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen & Primer, Broad Spectrum SPF 30.
I noticed that the Suntegrity Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen & Primer, Broad Spectrum SPF 30 has a light citrus orange scent whereas I did not smell that for the “BB creams”. I usually use about this amount (1 pump) for the my sunscreen application before I leave the house:
Just a last tip (?) about the bottle for the Suntegrity Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen & Primer, Broad Spectrum SPF 30.
I carried this bottle as a hand carry liquid while on my flight to India. Due to the cabin air pressure, my bottle now looks like this. Photo on the left is before, photo on the right is after.
The pump seems to have been “caught” and is now shorter than usual. However, dispensing of the sunscreen application is not affected. The amount dispensed too seems the same to me. Just that aesthetic wise, the bottle does not look as good as new. But to me, it doesn’t matter that much, since its still working! 😉
Good news for those who would also like the Suntegrity Skincare sunscreen for the body – its available now in Pure Tincture!
Pure Tincture is located at:
