Is Veganism Really that Big?

It’s no surprise that Veganism is a lifestyle gaining more credibility each and every day. A big part of that can be thanks to the countless celebrities jumping aboard the bandwagon each and every day.

We all know, while normal people go vegan on a small scale, the chain effect it creates is nowhere near the size of the one a famous person would. Simply put, their popularity and platform goes a long way. For them to voice that something is wrong with animal consumption, really allows for implanting that life-changing doubt in people’s brain. (Yep the world has come to this)

Endless celebrities have been going vegan, probably the biggest right now being: Ellen DeGeneres, Joan Jett, Woody Harrelson, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, Peter Dinklage, Stevie Wonder, Sia, Pamela Anderson, and Liam Hemsworth to name a few.

*Update: We have just added Ne-Yo to our list as he shared about going vegan on social media! Yayy! 🙂

Below you’ll find a handful of these celebrities’ claims and ideals on why they decided to make the moral lifestyle change and why they continue to instil it every day.

Miley Cyrus

Famously the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus and receiving her break on Disney’s Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus has imprinted her name in the spotlight. Since 2014 this star has been vegan and active when it comes to any form of injustice. Knowing that her platform affects many, she constantly posts pictures of animal cruelty, her faux fur outfits, as well as pictures of her pets of course!

“Be the voice of those who can’t say …..’Stop.’ Who can’t say ‘that hurts.’ Who can’t say ‘I’m so afraid to die.’ Be the voice of the animals!”

Ariana Grande

This famous red head first got her spotlight break about 7 years back on Victorious only to branch off as an independent singer in the world of stardom. With over 20 Million views on her social media, the star’s life-changing decision to go vegetarian, and then vegan a few years after, has affected many. Ariana knows how to use her voice, as she has endless tweets to voice her cruelty-free cause from:

“Ultimately, no one wants cow tit pus in their food, do they?”

“I’ve eaten organically since I was little, and always kept meat minimal, but today marks my first day as 100% Vegan!!!! Joyous Day.”

“I am a firm believer in eating a full plant-based, whole food diet that can expand your life length and make you an all-around happier person.”

Liam Hemsworth

With him first appearing with Miley Cyrus on “The Last Song” movie 7 years ago, both starts have come to make vegans hearts melt with their relationship. Liam revealed that he went vegan in 2015 and has not regretted it! When asked about it, the kind-hearted actor said the following:

“There are no negatives to eating like this. I feel nothing but positive, mentally and physically. I love it. I feel like it also has a kind of a domino effect on the rest of my life.”

Pamela Anderson

Aside from everyone else on this list, actress and model Pamela Anderson has been devoted to the cruelty-free lifestyle since she was a teen. With her face and voice showing up for endless PETA campaigns to advocate animal rights, Pamela has ensured her name on this list of Vegan Celebrities:

“Confining marine animals to tanks and separating them from their families and their natural surroundings, just so people can watch them swim in endless circles, teaches us far more about humans than it does about animals – and the lesson is not a flattering one.”

“I’m sure you agree that animals should not be abused – whether they’re cats or dogs or chickens – and that stopping this abuse should be your number one priority.”

Even more so, singer and songwriter Ne-Yo has just recently decided to go Vegan! Luckily, an uncovering, truth documentary What the Health was able to get him thinking. He was able to acknowledge where there was fault and adjust his life accordingly. Let’s all take a piece of advice from this guy!  He followed by going to social media to say the following:

“Thanks to the What the Health documentary, I’m officially going to be vegan, completely vegan…I ain’t messing with that meat no more.”

All in all, these celebrities are all beginning to understand how powerful their comments can be, and they’re using this power for the right reasons! Hopefully, as more celebrities and nameless people jump aboard this moral lifestyle choice, others who have never thought twice about the topic will begin to follow suit. As each celebrity has commonly said: There is no possible fault or down side to making the change!
