About SGVegan

A choice. A viewpoint. A lifestyle.

Hi, my name is Amanda Teng and I am SGVegan (Singapore Vegan).

Being vegan is the first step I took to living a nonviolent life.

I live in ethical awareness of the consequences of my daily actions and choices.

Ethics, is a inner self-regulation, to promote those aspects of our nature which we recognize as conducive to our own well-being and that of others.

I understand that it is a challenge for most of us to adopt a vegetarian diet, much less a vegan lifestyle.

Adopting and maintaining a particular lifestyle can often be frustrating whenever we hang out with our friends.

It would be nice to know what are the small steps we can make in our lifestyle, while hanging out with our friends to have a richer, healthier, happier and more fulfilling life? 😉

Thus, SGVegan serves as a platform for all individuals who are looking for healthier lifestyle alternatives, through small changes we can make in our daily lives. Even the simple act of ordering our food can be made into a conscious effort, leading to a subconscious impact to benefit ourselves and our loved ones.

SGVegan strives to share information on how to easily incorporate small changes within our lifestyle routines, through product reviews of accessible healthier food options that can be easily found in local supermarkets and health stores and wellness procedures to ease the transition.

SGVegan believes that caring is sharing. 🙂 Stay tuned for giveaways or lucky draws.

Do remember to subscribe with your email address on the top right of the page to be in the loop! ^^

To our radiant health,
Amanda, SGVegan

  1. Hi!
I’m Spanish and I’m flying to Singapore tomorrow for a conference.
I’m a vegan (hardly raw vegan) and I’d like to get some advice to find nice food and vegan events in Singapore.

    1. Hello Mónica!

First off, welcome to Singapore! I hope your stay here will be amazing. 🙂

It is becoming easier to get vegan options in Singapore due to the increasing number of vegan eateries that have opened here in Singapore.

From what you mentioned, I understand that you are a typical vegan, like myself as you are not specifically looking for raw vegan options in Singapore. Please correct me if I am mistaken. 🙂

Anyway, after having traveled through quite a number of countries searching for vegan options that are unique to each country, I would probably recommend this top 3 list of vegan eateries which I think are unique to Singapore and are a must-try for the vegan-foodie like yourself.

      1. Brownice Singapore’s first vegan ice-cream eatery made using organic brown rice and highest grade of fresh wholesome ingredients. Nowhere else can you get the creamiest texture of vegan ice cream that is similar to the “usual” ice cream. http://www.brownice.com/address.html)

      2. VeganBurg Singapore’s first vegan burger fastfood outlet, recently endorsed by Chrissie Hynde: “I’ve toured around the world with my band and always looking for the perfect burger. I finally found it at VeganBurg!” http://www.veganburg.com/contact-us/

      3. Loving Hut The best overall place to taste the usual “hawker” fare food. veganised! http://www.lovinghut.com.sg/sin-suntec-en/contact/

Lastly, please feel free to download the mobile application “HappyCow”. I browsed through it on the Android system and found that it was quite updated! Definitely something handy.

With regard to vegan events in Singapore, I must say that there are not many happening even throughout the year. Most of the vegan eateries have a Facebook Page – you can refer to the respective outlet’s pages on Facebook for the latest updates and happenings.

Please feel free to drop me a mail at sgvegan.wordpress@gmail.com should you require any assistance during this period of your stay. I’ll do my utmost to reply ASAP to your email! 🙂
